More from the Tyranids this time, with the Exocrine nearing completion, as you can see below.
All that needs doing now is the gloss varnish on the bone / armour plates and flock etc on the base. Hoping to get that done soon and will be posting the result when it is.
That's all for today,
Prospero

Painting Update - Part 5
A bit of a break from Nurgle this week, to show some of the progress made with my Tyranids. First up, a winged Hive Tyrant.
The weapon is a twin-linked devourer, made from spare gaunt and warrior / tyrant arms and weapons. I have seen other conversions of this weapon that use the fleshborer hive arms (legs?) from the Tervigon / Tyrannofex kit, however I wanted my version to still be a recognisable version of the original weapon, simply up-scaled.
The bone armour plates were painted using my usual coats of red, white markings, red ink and gloss varnish. It is quite time consuming but I'm always pleased with the results - particularly with the bigger creatures!

To create the base, several pieces of cork tile were ripped up and layered on top of each other. The model was then pinned through the tail to the base.
Well, that's all from me today. Please let us know what you think through the comments or on our Facebook page.

Tervigon 2!
Work on the tervigon continues, although I decided not to enter it into the painting contest as I really don't want to rush it. Here is how it looks now:
That's all for now... Prospero
The main colours are now all on the body section - I am leaving the legs until this is finished. The next stage will be to tidy up areas where the wrong colour has been applied, before adding the smaller details.
That's all for now... Prospero

Tervigon!
Well, with 6 weeks off work I think I'll finally be able to get some painting done! First up is my new Tervigon. Not only will this serve as a leader for my army in smaller games, it will also be my entry to the painted dragon contest (see previous posts for more on that).

Space Hulk
Well, another games night came and went - up this time... Space Hulk!
Mission: Cleanse and Burn Terminators: Prospero, Cortez Genestealers: Deathbringa
Objective: 2 Squads of Terminators have to fire their heavy weapons into target rooms. When this happens, they win. If the Genestealers get them though...
The marines achieved their objective with minimal casualties, but we decided to finish the turn that they did this (they went first, and the game should end as soon as their mission is completed). This allowed the foul xenos some measure of revenge as they wiped out half the marines! If the good guys had been just a little slower it could have been a very different outcome...
Following the game, I decided to get on with painting some Genestealers, as I have loads - many of which are the older type and poorly painted from many years ago. (The painted ones used in the game belong to Deathbringa) The final picture is a work in progress shot of the first of the new batch (breed?). Quite pleased with how its going.
That'll be it for now,
Prospero out.
