Battle of the11th Legion update 28/11/2012

Hey guys,
We have not forgot the Battle of 11th Legion. Me and deathbringa are working hard to get are 600 point list completed. I have been working very hard to get them complete and a tad closer after a mad blitz over the last few week.
This is mainly due to my new desk. I have everything set out now and is alot easier to work from.

Battle of the 11th Legion, 600 points Progress report (Space Marines)

Hello everybody,
So I am been told my evil counter part Deathbringa has posted his sneaky dirty greenskin list up.
Well I will post my 600point army list and the the WIP's of the army up to date.
With it been 600 points I wanted my list as kinda search army. As this be the 1st time I encounter the Orks I did't want it too elitey. I wanted a quick and easy list just to slow down the pesky orks from there main invasion.

I would love hear what you guys think. I will be cracking on with some tactical marines and sterngaurd this week. Then work towards building my drop-pod. I still need to buy a Razorback Or as I have 4 rhinos and 1 whirlwind already I would like to convert one of the previous models with magnets so I can swap the hatch around game to game.
Thank you so much for reading.

The Battle of the 11th Legion

''The time has come for the mighty Crimson Fists to defend them selves from the Green tide.''
Sealamin Tarmikos 2nd Company Captain of the 8th Sternguard
Hello everyone,
Thank you for everybodys support so far for the 11th Legion. Myself (Spud) and the other lads have been coming up with a plan over the last few days to make and create our own campaign. Using the current 40k rulebook with minor tweaks. Most the ideas are still in pencil at the moment but we will keep you updated.
Some of the interests in 11th Legion campaign:
  • 5 Campaign Games all with battle reports
  • Army modelling/painting progress reports
  • Hero experiance
That is a super small list but we want everything  to be enjoyable for you and our selves.
Thank you for reading.

WIP: Captain Cortez Reborn

Hey guys, been busy again tonight.

My whole army is inspired by the Rynns world book. I liked Crimson Fists before this Pedro guy came along and everyone wanted to be them. Soooo I've decided to have my own Captain Allesio Cortez leading my army.

These are the tools, parts I'm using, and some shots of the 'finished' product (so far as it goes):

Tell me what you think.
Peace and love.

Casting my own Crimson Fist symbols

Hey guys, today I've tried to recast the crimson fist tank pack.

I've used green stuff , pro-create and liquid greenstuff. It is incredibly easy: You get you casting putty and place it in to some boiling water for a few minutes. Please be careful when removing it from the water as its very hot! I use tweezers to pull the stuff out onto a flat surface (I usually put it on my cutting board but I'm lazy).

Anyhow, after that place the item into the caster putty and leave for 10-15 minuates to dry/cool down.
The casting puty can be bought of ebay very cheaply; once you see the results and can work it out yourself you be sooooo happy.
When it is cooled you apply water to the cast so the greenstuff doesnt stick. Then push the greenstuff in to the cast quite hard to make sure you dont get air bubbles.

Here is a few photos of my tools I used. There's also a a cup of hot water too, but forgot to put that in there.

Once the greenstuff had set I popped out the cast. After cutting the access off and smoothing things down you end up with the fist on the left.

Out of all three the products the green stuff worked the best but the pro-create was good but the detail wasnt as good. The liquid greenstuff is a total fail and just didnt work.

I'll be putting these casts, cut out, onto my Contemptor Emmure later on. Thanks for reading.

Spud's Contemptor Dreadnought Emmure (From start to finish)

Easy Brothers and Sisters,
Here are some photos of the work in process of my brand new forgeworld Contemptor Dreadnought Emmure from start to finish all in one post.

Only had a few hiccups during the construction of the model (all self inflicted). All because I wanted to have the option to switch the weapons over in various games. I have the kheres assault launcher and two power fists. The assualt cannon barrels were all separate and very fiddley and require alot of patience and time so dont rush it. Specially have to paying alot of money ;P on such a beautiful model.

After this process drying I applied a layer of liquid greenstuff because paint does not take well to the metal. Theres no pic yet but I'll try get one soon as possible.

I used cork sheets from my local hobby shop and bark from my local tree ;P ( Make sure the branch is dryed out before applying to model.)

So moving on here are photos of the applied fists that I have cast out of greenstuff, cut down then super glued into place.
So after placing all the fists and finishing the cleaning the model. I added a chain around the chain acting as belt to the loin clothe. I have now removed the purity seals off the back and trimmed the loin clothe down. Here are some the pictures of it modelling stage complete.

I myself would recomend watching a video or reading something to show how to put the model together as it was a awesome model but was a massive paint to put together.
Now the paint application Whoop. Here the photos sorry it took so long.

Thanks for looking people. Any comments or critsm will be welcomed and helpful for future models.
Just putting paint on my own converted sterngaurd.
Peace Spud
