Dropzone Commander 1500 point Battle Report - UCM Vs PHR - Tournament Practice

With my first Dropzone Commander tournament fast approaching I decided to get some much needed practice on one of the scenarios in the tournament pack. Spud and Aaron were happy to oblige.

As there was quite helpfully 10 scenarios in the Hawk Wargames 2015 tournament pack we decided to just roll a d10 and see which one fate chose. So we rolled up the "Search" scenario, which has a deployment map that looks like it has the measles.

Although after discovering that we only had 20 possible objective markers and the scenario required us to mark some as real we decided to go for the 5 out of 20 to be real. No we could have mixed them up and placed them our selves to be really tactical... but we decided to be lazy and get Aaron to place them for us.

We also filmed a battle report of this game:

So I don't spoil the results of the battle report I'll put my closing thoughts below:

Stormtalon Update

So, I've been hard at work on the Stormtalon for my Imperial Fists. The vehicle itself is now finished, with the metal areas tidied up and given a black wash (and some brown round the engine area). I also used pale yellow drybrushing paint for the edge highlights, which I am very pleased with. Here is the finished result:

Also, some of the internal details / work done on the pilot.

As usual, comments welcome! That's all for now,

Sternguard WIP

So, here are the new Sternguard I've been working on for my Imperial Fists. They are intended as extra to increase an existing squad to 10 men. As such, there are no combi-weapons on any of these - however, I couldn't resist doing something special for their guns.

Forge World all the way! It was important that these looked different to the bulk of my army, which is why I used the Mk4 armour set, along with the special bolters.

I'm currently undecided about whether to add all the ammo pouches, grenades and holstered bolt pistols to these models, though I did do this to the other Sternguard I built - this may be the deciding factor - Let me know in the comments whether you think this would be a good idea.

Well, that's it for now - please feel free to leave a comment below - the feedback is always appreciated! Check out our Facebook page for a few extra pictures I couldn't fit in here.

Stormtalon WIP

Just a quick update today with a couple of WIP images of my Imperial Fists Stormtalon. All the major work is done now, and its time for tidying up and small details.

As always, comments are welcome. I'm hoping to be back soon with another update, and some other interesting stuff I'm currently working on. Stay tuned...

Andy2d6's Mini Tournament BatRep part 1

HI all,

So I recently had the pleasure of going to Andy2d6's home for a post Christmas mini 40k tournament. I was joined on this journey by my good friend Spud Tate. Once there I met a charming guy called John was also playing.

I took my current favourite army the Eldar with me to face the armies of the Dark Angels (Andy), Tau (John) and Imperial Fists (Spud).

I was a very fun day and I played against Tau for the first time (well as the primary detachment). I had a great time and some very entertaining games as its always good to play new people.

Andy has produced some BatReps from the tournament, which you can see below:

This video is Dark Angels Vs Imperial Fists and Then Eldar Vs Tau, enjoy.

Blog Wars 6: Tournament Report and Army Slide Show

Hi all,

Well Blog Wars 6 has come and gone, and what a fun day it was. After everything was said and done ended up placing 13th, which wasn't terrible.

Here is a small report of the tournament and the day. And what tournament report would be complete without a slide show of some of the armies at the tournament.

Enjoy:

11th Legion Presents: Road to Blog Wars, episode #4 The end of the road

Yes, it is the end of the road, I have managed to complete the army, with time to spare...

So what follows is a bit of a showcase of my army and my thoughts on my choices.
Hopefully there should be a tournament report of my performance some time next week.

Another thing to look forward to is a battle report between myself and TotalTyke some time after the tournament (if work and life can allow). This will be using our tournament armies. So that is something else to look forward to.

So here is the last part in my Road to blog wars series:

Thanks for watching

DeathBringa at the Yorkshire Open Tournament Final

Well Sunday the 25th came round very quickly and I had 3 games of 1800 points 40k ahead of me.

Somebody had the bright idea to hold the tournament the day after daylight savings took effect. So we had to wait over an hour for all the players to turn up.

This was my 1800 point force:

DeathBringa at the Yorkshire Open Tournament

Hi all,

This report, of how I did at the Yorkshire Open, is a tad late. It was over a week ago, but never mind....
